Level - Introduction
This webinar has been designed to support you to increase your knowledge of coaching principles and how to use these in your clinical practice and supervision roles. Our speaker are expert Dietitians who have completed coaching qualifications. They will guide you through how these principles can be used in practice. We welcome nutrition professionals and all members of the MDT to this session.
Learning Outcomes for the Webinar:
Understand how Coaching and nutrition fit together. Participants will understand the relationship between coaching and nutrition and identify how they can enhance their communication skills and strategies to facilitate meaningful and impactful client interaction.
Grasp Fundamental Coaching Principles for Practical Application. Attendees will gain insight into the foundational principles of coaching and how these can be effectively applied in eating disorders practice to support clients in achieving their goals.
Develop Awareness of Appropriate Coaching Techniques. Participants will become aware of the situations and rationales for incorporating coaching techniques into their practice and when and why to employ these strategies.
Acquire an introduction to Coaching Strategies for Nutrition Practice. Attendees will become aware of practical coaching strategies tailored specifically for eating disorders practice, enabling them to effectively guide and empower clients towards sustainable dietary changes.
Identify Opportunities to Integrate Coaching into Professional Supervision. Participants will recognise opportunities to integrate coaching into supervision roles, fostering a more collaborative and empowering approach to professional development and support.
About the Speakers:
Jade Hanson - Specialist Eating Disorders Dietitian
Jade is an experienced Dietitian who has worked in the field of mental health and eating disorders for over 10 years. She completed her Dietetics Degree and further developed her knowledge by completing a PGCert in Eating Disorders at Leeds Beckett University and has completed her coaching qualification. She uses coaching methods within supervision to support her team. Jade currently works for an NHS trust in the southwest as well as a Clinical Associate Trainer for Beat-the UK's Eating Disorders Charity. Jade has extensive experience clinically supporting adults and children with eating disorders as well as their families.
Jade provides regular training for Dietitian’s in the field of Eating Disorders, facilitates carers groups, is a guest lecturer in Dietetics and has provided workshops at the International Eating Disorders Conference and Beat Frontline conference and online E-Learning portal, POD.
Lisa Waldron - Specialist Eating Disorders Dietitian
Lisa Waldron is a Clinical Specialist Dietitian working in the public health service in Ireland and also works in a freelance capacity with the Rhitrition clinic. She holds a post graduate qualifications in eating disorders and has worked in the area for more than 9 years. She is currently the Vice chair of the Mental Health Specialist Group and has contributed to national guidance on eating disorders. Pre covid she trained health coaching and more recently qualified as a health coach trainer, supporting Health Care Professionals to develop advanced communication and behaviour change skills.
